Erika Schuh has been supporting the sports retail group with data analysis since August. This will bring SPORT 2000 a step closer to analyzing internal processes and market developments more closely and optimizing these transnationally.
The mountain of data available in a company—also known as Big Data—is increasing in size and becoming increasingly unintelligible. Evaluating this data plays an increasingly important role in capturing client behavior in detail and responding faster to product range decisions. The arrival of Erika Schuh as business analyst will help the sports retail group to make sound decisions in the future based on market developments. With her comprehensive knowledge, Erika Schuh has been responsible for analytical surveys on the topics of consumers and market insights since August. The business graduate has several years’ experience as a business analyst including time with A.C. Nielsen, Fresenius Medical Care Deutschland GmbH, Catalina Marketing Germany, Fitness First Germany and Hess Natur-Textilien GmbH. Relevant insights from data analysis of the sports market are made available to all countries in the second-largest group of associated companies in Europe.
“Our clear aim is to strengthen SPORT 2000 INTERNATIONAL on all fronts and to better utilize synergies between countries. Thanks to Ms Schuh’s many years’ of experience in business analytics, she brings to SPORT 2000 International a sound understanding which clearly supports us in further optimizing existing business processes and better understanding markets,” says Margit Gosau, CEO of SPORT 2000 International, speaking about the new team member.
Category Management Reorganized
Erika Schuh is also helping out with category management, which was reorganized mid-year. In the very near future, POS data will be consolidated internationally, then compared and made available to the category team in order to make the best decisions when assigning products to product ranges. This enables us to respond to client needs in a more targeted manner. With this reorganized category management, the sports retail group is taking customers’ new experience orientation into account Europe-wide. Product groups at SPORT 2000 International will be managed in three category management units in future, categorizing relevant sport types into thematic areas. The new responsibilities were assigned as follows:
